Happy Merry!

Over a week later and I am just sitting down to write about our fun-filled Thanksgiving/Christmas weekend!  We hosted Thanksgiving this year with the help of many family members to pull it all together.  We were blessed to have four-generations of family at our Thanksgiving feast! We ate an abundance of food, did a lot of visiting, and then ate more food. Everyone enjoyed aunt Sarah's pies, especially Delainey who got to taste them for the first time!
After some rest and relaxation we headed over to Grandma's house for some holly, jolly Christmas celebrations!  I think the children could have waited to open gifts until Friday, but Joe and I couldn't wait, so it was settled.  Thanksgiving night... we celebrated Christmas! Let the fun holiday season begin!

Loving the ribbon
Delainey got a new stroller and a baby...yea!
The girls all played so well together with their new toys.  It is fun to watch them get to know each other more with each and every weekend together. We all had a wonderful time visiting, laughing, and telling old funny stories...even some that I had never heard before! :)
We ended our weekend with a celebration of marriage between our good friends - The Petersen's!  It is always fun to get dressed up and attend a party...we had a blast!
Happy Holidays!

Hats

Since our last post we have been having fun trying on and wearing new hats. Check out little Miss Style in her lovely hats...
Go Bears

Go Bears again!  (Daddy's hat)

Love our new hat from Jill!
We finally got some snow!  We have been loving the wonderful fall weather, but we are due for some snow.  It was fun to see Delainey's face as she saw snow for the first time. I suppose it was not technically the first time, but it was the first time she reacted to it.  So we had to go outside and enjoy for about a minute and a half...brr it's cold outisde!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and we actually start our Christmas celebrations immediately following eating the turkey and stuffing. A friend of mine told me they call that Happy Merry! So, because of "Happy Merry" we have had some packages arriving in the mail.  Delainey claims any box as her personal couch.  It's quite entertaining!
We wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!  We are very thankful for our wonderful family, friends, good health.......and most of all, our precious little girl.  We will leave you with her new, hilarious face.  Remember what I said in an earlier post...she is her father's daughter! :)

Belated Happy Halloween and more

Hope everyone had a great Halloween! We sure did!  Delainey was a flower for Halloween, and she did a great job walking from door to door around our block. We visited our next door neighbors first, which is so fun. They think Delainey is such a treat. Then off to visit our babysitter and her four little girls.  They welcomed Delainey with a big bowl of candy and knew exactly what she would like out of their bowl. Then over to grandma's house for another special treat!  It was a great second Halloween for our little Lainey!
Daddy and Dags are great leaders!
The rocking chair has also been a big hit lately. Delainey is now tall enough to get in it all by herself.  The chair gets pushed all over our house, because sometimes you feel like rocking in the kitchen and sometimes you feel like rocking in the livingroom!  There are a few more pictures taken from the fun times this week.

Silly grin!

Delainey loves the shopping cart.  Notice the purse too.  She was born a shopper!

On the run!

So I already lied. Two weeks have went by since my last post.  Oops...

Delainey has been busy learning new sounds to make. She repeatedly tells Dags to "shhh".  Daddy and I must say that a little too much!  Poor dog, he never got in trouble until we had a sweet sleeping baby around the house. He still has things pretty good. Delainey also practices her "sh's" by looking for her shoes. Each morning before daycare we ask if she's ready to go, and then it comes "shoes, shoes..."

Here she is running in her dress shoes and jabbering for the camera!

The weather is getting colder. We haven't been able to play outside after work and daycare, but she still seems to be pretty exhausted at bedtime!

Sometimes the most fun things in the house are not the toys at all.  Last night, it was the pack of diapers and a cell phone that seemed to take the cake.  No need to search for a mini couch; we'll just use a pack of diapers for kicking back!

When she looked up, I got this face!  What a goof ball....she's her father's daughter! haha

Delainey got to wear her Halloween costume to daycare this morning.  It was a little early to be taking pictures, so we'll try to add more on Sunday after we go trick-or-treating, (or just visiting the neighbors!)

Here we are!

Hello Everyone!  Welcome to the Falken Zoo blog!  Setting up a blog has been on my "to do" list for months.  Not sure why it has taken me so long to get this project completed.

Delainey is now 15 months old, and she is the joy of our lives!  She amazes us everyday with a new trick.  Right now she is busy pushing her new shopping cart all over the house.  Her little imagination is in full swing and the babbling never stops.  We love it!

Another favoite toy the telephone.  As much as she loves it now, we may be in trouble when she gets to be a teenager. She also loves her puppy, Mr. Dags.  Every morning he gets a greeting from our little munchkin....a big wave, a "hi puppy" (in 15 month old language), and a few pats on the back.

This fall weather has been great, and we have tried to spend as much time outside as possible! Delainey loves the crunchy leaves and swinging in the cool breeze. We hope the snow holds off as long as possible.

Stop by again soon to check out the latest on our little peanut!  We will try to keep this updated on a weekly basis.  We can't leave without a little shout out from our tiniest Bears fan....."Go Bears"!
